Today we began the process of passing off our first design document to development. Meeting between Michael, Larry, Ed, and Nelson. We’ve completed the bulk of our phase one design. Compared to the other software companies we’ve started we are much further ahead. We have a detailed design doc on what the iPhone app will do. It’s been rare in the past that we’ve had this much design work prior to the start of our coding. Nelson is certain that he can begin to code based on what we handed off today.
We’re all very enthused about what we’ve designed. Should be a very useful, simple app for iPhone, but one which has no c0mpeting iPhone app, even with the release of 3.0. Best part is this is phase one, we’ve already scoped out phase two and three. We also have two additional iPhone apps on the drawing board that are totally unrelated to this development effort.

Spent the last two weeks working on building up this blog site. Finally getting it to the point where we are satisfied with the look and feel.
Hopefully when we are done we’ll be able to communicate what we are working on, and the status, along with the frustrations, successes, and fun of a new product.
Took a big step toward moving our product development along in an organized manner by engaging Ed Gray to help in the product design phase. Ed is helping us to layout our iPhone screens, and detail the functionality. Should make it much easier for coding. If nothing else we have learned from all of our past software endeavors the importance of an upfront design doc.
And of course Larry continues to keep his business development hat charged up. He has two more products conceptualized for us to begin the design phase, once our current design moves into coding.
All in all it’s Wednesday and we’ve already gotten a weeks worth of work done. Nice to see the operation picking up some momentum.
